1942 – Drummer Floyd Sneed of Three Dog Night is born in Calgary, Alberta. 1950 – Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads is born in Coronado, Calif. 1950 - Steven Van Zandt-guitarist for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band is born 1955 – Sun Records sells Elvis Presley’s contract to RCA for $40,000. Sun boss Sam Phillips invested his portion of the money into the fledging Holiday Inn chain. 1961 – Bob Dylan finishes recording his self-titled debut in the second of two three-hour sessions. 1963 – The Beatles release their second album, With the Beatles, which already has advance orders of 300,000 copies. 1965 – Bob Dylan marries Sara Lowndes in Nassau County, New York. His marriage to the single mother remains a secret until the following February. 1981 – Tonight at Chicago’s Checker Board Lounge, blues giant Muddy Waters is joined by fans Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood for a jam onstage. 1982 – Led Zeppelin release their outtakes album Coda. The collection goes to No. 6 in the U.S. 1997 – Michael Hutchence, lead singer of Australia’s premiere pop phenomenon, INXS, is found hanging in his fifth floor suite at the Ritz- Carlton hotel in Sydney. 2000 – Ted Gardner, former manager of Tool, sues the members of the L.A. band, their corporation, and their publishing company, alleging breach of contract and fraud. 2003 – ZZ Top become the final rock band to play their hometown’s legendary venue, the Houston Compaq Center. The trio first played there in November 1975. 2006 - After living in the U.S. since the mid 1970’s, Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood became a U.S. citizen in Los Angeles. 2010 – Vince Neil says he is “Taking a beating” on Skating With The Stars.
