1941 – Ray Thomas of the Moody Blues is born in Stourton-on-Severn, England.
1946 - Marianne Faithfull is born today.
1947 – Rock drummer Cozy Powell, who’s played with the Jeff Beck Group and Rainbow, is born.
1955 - Neil Giraldo-guitarist for and husband of Pat Benatar is born.
1962 – While in London, Bob Dylan performs at the Troubadour folk club.
1966 – The Jimi Hendrix Experience made their debut on the UK TV show ‘Top Of The Pops’ performing ‘Hey Joe’.
1967 – Singer-guitarist Dave Mason leaves Traffic to start a solo career.
1969 – John Lennon and Yoko Ono have a session with Canadian hypnotists Hammrick & Leonard. The couple are trying to stop smoking.
1975 – Grace Slick divorces her Jefferson Airplane cohort Paul Kantner.
1980 - Tim Hardin,writer of songs “If I Were a Carpenter” and “Reason to Believe” died of heroin & morphine overdose in Los Angeles. He was 39 years old.
1982 -  Kiss kicked off their tour in support of Creatures of the Night at the Bismarck Civic Center in Bismarck, ND. It was their first tour with guitarist Vinnie Vincent replacing Ace Frehley & would be their last tour in makeup until their 1996 reunion tour.
2006 – The wife of rock singer Marilyn Manson, Burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese filed for divorce after just a year of marriage. The couple married in December 2005 in a ceremony held at a castle in Ireland.
2010 – Slash has released his iTunes Session EP featuring Myles Kennedy.
2010 - Van Halen, Jimmy Page and Zakk Wylde Make Top Guitars That Don’t Sound Like Guitars List.
